DISAGREEMENT Victor Valdes sacked as Barcelona Under-19 head coach amid rumours of a falling out with Patrick Kluivert

Barcelona have confirmed the sacking of legendary goalkeeper Victor Valdes as the club’s under-19 coach.
The Spaniard was only appointed as Juvenil A head coach back in July having returned to the Nou Camp five years after making his 535th and final appearance for them.

Victor Valdes has been fired as Barcelona U19 coach

There are rumours that the reason behind Valdes’ sacking was due to an alleged bust-up with Patrick Kluivert.
A brief club statement read: “Barcelona have informed Victor Valdes on Monday that he is no longer U19A coach and no longer employed by the club.”
In his 12 years with Barcelona, the 37-year-old won among others, six La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies.

Kluivert, the fomer Barcelona and Holland striker who is now the director of youth football at the Spanish champions, is said to have clashed with Valdes over a number of issues including the team’s formation and failure to turn up for important meetings with other coaches at the club..

On Friday, Barcelona said Valdes would not be on the bench for Saturday’s game against Gimnastic in Tarragona, which they went on to win 2-1.
Their recent form has not been impressive however, and while the U19s are unbeaten in the league, they have dropped points against Cornella and also lost both of their Youth League games, against Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan.
