LAST RESORT Manchester United hire specialist coach to end injury hell which has plagued Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign

Manchester United have added yet another member of staff to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s backroom team in order to end their injury hell.
Since the Norwegian was appointed on a full time basis in March last year, the injury room at Carrington has been filled with top stars.

In fact, Solskjaer has been robbed of as many as 11 first team players this year at some stage as fitness concerns bite mount.
The club have moved to appoint Martyn Pert in order to solve these issues, a highly-rated coach
The 41-year-old has amassed a wealth of coaching experience at clubs in the UK and in Canada – where he was most recently assistant manager at Vancouver Whitecaps.
Pert is highly respected for his ability to combine both footballing expertise and his deep knowledge of fitness and conditioning.

His arrival is the latest addition to Solskjaer’s back team which has seen Head of Academy Nicky Butt taking a more senior role within the club.
Former United reserve team player Neil Wood was appointed as the lead coach in the under-23 development squad, with Quinton Fortune working alongside him.
The aim was for Wood, Fortune and Butt to help provide a more seamless transition from development squad into the first team at a time when youngsters like Mason Greenwood, Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong are being nurtured.
