Mesut ozil left out of Arsenal squad to face standard liege

Unai Emery has once again left out Mesut Ozil from his Arsenal matchday squad as the Gunners prepare to take on Standard Liege at the Emirates.

The playmaker, who is the Gunners’ best-paid player, has appeared in just 140 minutes of action this season across two games – a 2-2 draw with Watford in the Premier League and a 5-0 EFL Cup win over Nottingham Forest.
Ozils relationship withi Emery has hit rock bottom
According to Football London , Ozil does not have an injury and Emery has made the decision purely for selection reasons.

On Monday, Ozil was not selected by Emery for the visit to Manchester United, with the Spaniard saying before the match: “He is not here today. Today I decided the first eleven and the squad.”
Arsenal have turned their focus to their youngsters this season, with Joe Willock, Bukayo Saka, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Martinelli all enjoying more first-team action.
Ozil, 30, has been linked with a move away from the Emirates for some time, with DC United reportedly interested in bringing him to the MLS.
However, his £350,000-a-week wages have proven to be a stumbling block in a deal, with no club willing to match such high wages to seal the transfer.
